A tiny piece of land
The Gaza Strip is 41 km long and 6 to 12 km wide and has a total area of 365 sq km.
It has a 51 km border with Israel and an 11 km border with Egypt.
Area of Mumbai is 603 SQ km, almost double of Gaza strip or in Hindi a ‘Patti’. Actually, on a big map this appears as a thin ribbon.
It is a dot on the world map.
The terrible fight
The history of Israel-Palestine animosity and fighting is very long and complex and is not important to the current situation directly. Briefly it panned out to culminate into present day crisis as under.
In 2005, Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip and dismantled its settlements. The Gaza Strip was left under the control of the Palestinian Authority by Israel. Hamas and Fatah were two major contenders to form a government to administer Gaza.
One can draw a parallel between India and Pakistan war of 1971. Indian forces captured around 15,010 km2 of land in the West but returned it in the 1972 Shimla Agreement as a gesture of goodwill. We forgave but they never forgot. They kept on with terrorist attacks in Kashmir valley making life of people hell with no peace, no development. Once a scoundrel is always a scoundrel.
As they say history repeats itself and it did on 7th oct 2023 When Hamas, the so called administrator actually a terrorist in disguise attacked Israel totally unprovoked and surprise was total.

The attack began on a Saturday morning, the holiday of Simchat Torah, at 6:29 am. Hamas launched approximately 4,300 rockets towards central and southern Israel. An Israeli military probe found that, under cover of the rocket barrage, roughly 6,000 Hamas terrorists and Palestinian looters crossed from the Gaza Strip into Israel.
At the end of that terrible day, 1,200 Israelis had been murdered. Among the victims were 364 civilians murdered while attending the Nova music festival near Kibbutz Reim in southern Israel.
Thousands more people were injured. Some of them will be left with disabilities for life. Another 250 Israelis and others were kidnapped and taken into Gaza as hostage. Rape, beheadings, bodies burned alive.
Hamas committed atrocities that recall the worst ravages of ISIS, unleashing pure unadulterated evil upon the world.
There is no rationalizing it, no excusing it. Period.

People living in Gaza chose Hamas to govern them
Fatah is Palestinian National Liberation Movement, is a Palestinian nationalist and social democratic political party and the second-largest party in the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC).
HAMAS–the acronym for Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiyya (Islamic Resistance Movement)—is the largest and most capable militant group in the Palestinian territories and one of the territories' two major political parties.

Sorry you knew it and in a way connived, with Hamas- Gaza is Hamas and Hamas is Gaza. Period.

Now when the heat is becoming intolerable the civilians in Gaza who were hand in glove with Hamas are crying foul that ‘poor civilians’ are being targeted! Israel is taking utmost care to avoid civilian targets and civilians, but this is all out war and there has to be a collateral damage.
Fighting terror is a collective responsibility of the world leaders
Tens of thousands of innocent people, women, kids and old die every year and this menace has been recognized world over. PM of Israel clearly stated this fact while addressing UN and is pleading for support and it is shameful act that some powerful leaders are playing politics over this and some human right activists are crying foul on th streets of some nations. People of the world in fact entire humanity must hang its head in shame.
The worst is that most of the youth across the world who is protesting against this is not even aware of the genesis of the conflict- they are responsible citizens and must behave.

At least 10,000 people are feared to be buried under the rubble in Gaza, according to the U.N., meaning the true death toll could be much higher.
