In a startling twist, prominent Maratha reservation activist, Manoj Jarange-Patil, has emerged as the potential candidate for the Beed Lok Sabha Constituency under the banner of the Maha Vikas Aghadi. This bombshell announcement came from none other than Ashish Deshmukh, a leading figure within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Deshmukh stated, "We have information that Manoj Jarange, being backed by Sharad Pawar's faction, is being prepared to enter the election fray from the Beed Lok Sabha Constituency. Jarange has had political ambitions right from the beginning, which is why he spearheaded the Maratha reservation movement, dragging it on for months.

Today, in the meeting of the Maha Vikas Aghadi, efforts are being made to secure the Beed seat. Once the seat is secured, it will be given to Jarange after the Pawar faction withdraws, as I have been informed." Deshmukh also alleged that Rajesh Tope was ensuring Jarange's candidacy by guiding him consistently.

Manoj Jarange's candidacy has also garnered recommendations from Prakash Ambedkar, the leader of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi. Ambedkar suggested that Jarange should contest the Lok Sabha elections. He said, "Manoj Jarange still holds significant sway over the entire Maratha community. He should urge the community not to vote for either the Congress or the BJP. Moreover, Jarange should contest independently from the district. This means he won't have Anna Patil's support. Instead, the government should provide permanent reservation to the Maratha community without affecting the OBCs."

SIT Inquiry Demanded Into Maratha Reservation Protest
Ashish Shelar, a BJP MLA, demanded an SIT (Special Investigation Team) inquiry into Manoj Jarange's agitation for Maratha reservation during a meeting at the Sabha Bhavan today. Consequently, an order has been issued by the Speaker of the Assembly, Rahul Narvekar, to conduct an SIT inquiry into Manoj Jarange's agitation.
