Rehna Hoga Toh Systum Ke Niche! Elvish Yadav admits to arranging snake venom for rave parties after getting arrested

Noida, Mar 18: Bigg Boss OTT winner and Youtuber Elvish Yadav, who coined the phrase "Rehne Hoga Toh Systum Ke Niche" that became popular instantly, seems to be now understanding this phrase. Now, he has reportedly admitted to supplying snakes and snake venom at rave parties organised by him. The YouTuber was arrested on November 17 by Noida Police in connection with a rave party where snake venom was allegedly provided as a recreational drug to the revellers.

The case was lodged under provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and for criminal conspiracy under section 120B of the Indian Penal Code. Five people - Rahul (32), Teetunath (45), Jaikaran (50), Narayan (50) and Ravinath (45)- who were arrested last year after the police busted the snake smuggling racket in Noida Sector 51 told the police that used to supply snake venom at rave parties organised by Yadav.

How was the crime unfolded?


‘People for Animals’ NGO by Maneka Gandhi filed a complaint against Yadav and five others for allegedly providing snake venom at a party in Noida in November 2024. Following a sting operation, a police raid was conducted on a Noida Sector 51 banquet hall exposed a snake smuggling ring, resulting in the arrest of five individuals, including four snake charmers, who were caught supplying venom to the Elvish. The accused individuals claimed they supplied venom at parties allegedly hosted by Yadav, further complicating the situation for the 26-year-old YouTuber.

What is snake venom?


Snake venom is used to induce intoxication, especially at rave parties. Though it does not typically produce an alcohol-like high, it can induce symptoms that could have effects on the nervous system and other psychological processes.

Due to neurotoxins present in snake venom can affect the neurotransmission, which reportedly remains for six to seven days. These neurotoxins in the venom target the nervous system and affect the transmission of the nerve signals, which can lead to muscle weakness, paralysis and a changed mental state. The venom also affects the muscarinic receptors, which a key role in psychological processes such as memory enhancement and learning.

What is a rave party?


Rave parties, also called underground parties, began in 1980s. These parties were mostly attended by hippies or bohemians, who would listen to the music and dance all night. The parties usually start at midnight and go on till the wee hours of the morning. Apart from this, a lot of drugs such as cocaine, MDMA, MD, LSD, GHB, cannabis hashish, ketamine, amphetamine and methamphetamine are distributed at the rave parties.

Though such part are not illegal in India, usage of illicit drugs are against the law.

Facing charges under the Wildlife Act, Yadav now confronts additional allegations under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Section 29 of the stringent law.
