Budaun, Mar 22: In a shocking development, thousands of Muslims gathered for Mohammad Sajid's funeral who was killed in a police encounter after he was responsible for brutally murdering two minor boys in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh. This received major backlash from the netizens on the internet who questioned why such a mob could gather to pay condolences to an accused in a murder.

Sajid, an accused in the case had been shot by the cops in an encounter after he fired at the police. Meanwhile, the father of the two minor children has requested that the Uttar Pradesh Police ensure that Javed, a co-accused, is not shot dead in an encounter. Mohammad Sajid had slit their throats with sharp weapons at their home in Baba colony in the western UP district. Moreover, after murdering the children, he reportedly drank their blood. Javed, also an accused and who was absconding was arrested on March 20 night in Bareilly.

After Sajid was killed, a funeral procession was carried out in Budaun. However, netizens were shocked to see thousands of Muslims gathered for the procession.


Netizens also drew pattern of how Muslims paid condolences to such criminals/terrorists when they were killed and a funeral procession of them took place. They shared image of people gathering for Yakub Memon, a terrorist convicted for involvement in the 1993 Bombay bombings and Burhan Wani, Hizbul Mujahideen commander and Islamic terrorist.
