In an exclusive interview with India Today, Amit Shah was asked about the report in The Guardian which said India carried out targeted assassinations in Pakistan. He replied, "Whoever did it, why anyone has a problem with it?"

Further, he said, "The agency will do their jobs, why should we interfere in it. Who killed them, how they got killed, and why they were killed; why should we intervene in it."

What did the Guardian report claim?

The Guardian had published a report claiming that Indian intelligence agencies had killed about 20 people in Pakistan since 2020 as part of a broader plan to eliminate terrorists residing on foreign soil. According to The Guardian report, documents shared by some Pakistani investigators indicated India's intelligence agency, RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) allegedly carried out 20 such targeted killings on foreign soil as part of an emboldened approach to national security after the 2019 Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 40 Indian soldiers.
