Kerala: 26 yo Mohammed Sanoof shares anti-national post in support of the Pahalgam terror attack; arrested

A 26-year-old man has been arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) over allegations that he shared an anti-national post online in support of the Pahalgam terror attack. The individual, identified as Mohammed Sanoop and hailing from North Paravur in Ernakulam district, was apprehended by Karipur police early Friday morning shortly after landing at Karipur airport, having flown in from Saudi Arabia, where he had been employed.

 

 

Following his arrest, custody was transferred to Muttom police in Thodupuzha, where the case had been registered based on a complaint lodged by Adeena Bharathi, state secretary of Yuva Morcha.

 

 

 

The complaint stated that Sanoop had left the objectionable comment on a news report covering the account given by the daughter of Ramachandran, one of the Malayali victims of the terror attack. A screenshot documenting the comment had been handed over to Muttom police along with the original complaint almost a year earlier. The complaint claimed the anti-national statement had been posted from overseas via social media.

 

 "Is this how my brothers killed this Kafir? It's good that today or tomorrow, we will capture Kashmir and separate Kashmir from India. Other countries of the world will split on India. The world will realize that Kashmir is in danger. My brothers would have entered India and protected Indian Muslims and destroyed the rest of the people in droves. We have been waiting for ages for a holy war. The Indian Army would have killed us. You can kill the sleeper cells. Our idea and goal can never be frozen or destroyed. One day, we will come close to you all by shouting "Naare Takbir" loudly," the post by the accused read.
