In a show of unity, journalists in Chennai boycotted Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani's press conference over his 'unwarranted demand'. According to local media reports, Mevani had demanded the journos to remove Republic TV's mic and although the channel's reporter made repeated requests, Mevani refused to budge. Fed up of his unwillingness to cooperate, the journalists asked the Dalit leader to leave, calling off the presser.
Reacting on the Gujarat results, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in UP assembly elections two youth Rahul and Akhilesh had lost while in Gujarat four youth Rahul Gandhi, Hardik Patel, Jignesh Mevani and Alpesh Thakor were the losers.
