Boosting tourism in the hilly region, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindhia flagged off Heli services at Jollygrant Airport on Friday. This new beginning with 18 new heli routes will help connect the hilly areas of the state in addition to 3 new routes on Dehradun-Pithoragarh-Dehradun, Pithoragarh-Hindon-Pithoragarh and Pantnagar-Pithoragarh-Pantnagar sector. The new terminal building is spread across a wide area and will be able to handle 1200 passengers during peak hours by expanding the capacity
Inauguration of these routes achieves the aim of the "Sab Uden Sab Juden" initiatives under the UDAN scheme to strengthen the established aerial network of the country while providing a catalyst to the local economy and tourism.
