Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to release the third indigenisation list comprising major equipment and platforms, which will be completely indigenised by Dec 2025.
The weapons and platforms mentioned in the list released by the Defence Ministry today, are planned to be indigenized progressively with effect from Dec 2022 to Dec 2027.
India needs to be self-reliant in order to avoid any dependence on other countries when it comes to meeting military requirements.
Dr. Subhash Bhamre, state Defense minister, inaugurated a seminar on Solutions to Problem Statements with a theme ‘Indigenous Technological Empowerment of the Indian Army’. On this occasion he said that each and every sector should have a primary concern for indigenization likewise it is important for the defence sector of the nation as it leads to self-reliance which is critical to national security.
