Patna, July 9: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar once again reiterated that JD(U) will continue its collaboration with BJP for upcoming 2019 general election. Speaking to the media here, the JD(U) National President refuted the speculations about proposed entry into anti-BJP 'Mahagathbandhan' at the national level.

When asked about the alleged resentment between JD(U) and BJP over seat sharing formula, Kumar stated that officials of both parties would take the final call on seat adjustment. He added that internal issues like seat sharing will be discussed on party forum.

Commenting on the idea of ‘One Nation One Election’ pitched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kumar opined that proper atmosphere should be created for the hassle-free rollout of the proposed electoral reform. He observed that with the existing ecosystem, conducting simultaneous poll would be a tough call. “Forget 2019, don't think it's possible even in 2024.” Said Nitish.

When asked about the ambitious state-wide liquor prohibition, the Bihar Chief Minister said that a legal committee of top officers has been constituted to address the crucial issue. He underlined that after due consultation with legal experts, the state-appointed panel will introduce amendments as per requirement.
