Conchshell blown for Jharkhand Assembly elections: BJP announces first list of 52 candidates

Ranchi, November 11: Environment in Jharkhand is getting more heated up as the upcoming assembly elections have put all the political parties on their toes. On Sunday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced on Sunday its first list of 52 candidates for the Jharkhand assembly polls.



 

Chief Minister Raghubar Das will contest from Jamshedpur (East), while the BJP's state unit president Lakshman Gilua has been fielded from Chakradharpur, party General Secretary Arun Singh said at a press conference here in presence of BJP working President J P Nadda.

BJP working President JP Nadda said, "Five years back Jharkhand was known for corruption and instability. Today, under the leadership of Raghubar Das, Jharkhand is known for its stability and development. Corruption has been brought down and the state is moving towards development."

Jharkhand will vote in five phases, with the first one on November 30 and the last on December 20. The results will be declared on December 23.

The notification for the second phase of assembly elections in Jharkhand will be issued today. 20 constituencies will go polls in this phase on the 7th of December.

 

The filing of nominations for this phase will end on November 18, while scrutiny will be taken up the next day. November 21 is the last date for withdrawal of candidature.

The 81-member Jharkhand assembly will go to polls in five phases between November 30 and December 20 and the counting votes will be taken up December 23.
