New Delhi, Aug 23: Taking advantage of the positive feedback and welcome responses on revoking Article 370 and 35A and bringing Jammu & Kashmir within the ambit of the Constitution, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning to go a big way among the people through a mass awareness drive.

The BJP is now planning to reach out to at least 2000 prominent personalities from various fields like films, media, sports, etc. and to create awareness among them on the government decision of abrogating Article 370 and 35A.

A Jan Jagaran Abhiyan on this important issue will be planned and also indoor meetings will be held in states and districts across the country, agency reports said quoting party leader.

This is seen as an important step as the four states including Maharashtra and Haryana are facing assembly elections in the near future. The party believes that the decision to abrogate article 370 and 35A have the support and endorsement of the people of the country. Besides, the party would carry out a special campaign to contact nearly 2000 prominent personalities from various walks of life and to put the issue before them in perspective. The party has started shortlisting such personalities from areas of films, sports, academia, media, and legal fraternity.

A committee of senior party leaders including Union Ministers Prahlad Joshi, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Dharmendra Pradhan, and Jitendra Singh, has been formed to conduct this campaign.

In addition to this, former minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, and Bengaluru MP Tejasvi Surya are members of this committee.
