Kochi, January 29: While the state holds the esteem pride of 100% literacy in the country, it is seldom seen that the religious conversion of girls and youth is on a high scale. It is often noted that “Love Jihad is a reality” in Kerala and also has alleged that scores of women from Christian community from the state were being lured into the trap of Islamic State and used in terror activities. In order to put an end to this illegal activity, the Kerala People Front has lodged complaint at National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) to seek investigation of Kerala’s ‘Love Jihad’ issue in which many underage Hindu and Christian girls were lured, converted to Islam.

The complaint lodged by Vipin Menon has sought to investigate the issue where the Hindu and Christian girls were lured, converted to Islam and used as sex slaves to wage Global Jihad. He has also urged the NCPCR to order the Kerala Police to take action in this regard.

Taking quick cognizance of the situation, the NCPCR has initiated action on the complaint about growing number of sexual offences against girls in Kerala involving Jihadi radicals. Along with it, the action taken report has also been sought from Kerala DGP in 10 days. It has been noted that the Police should however take a probe in the religious extremist angle of the issue because it openly exhibits Love Jihad.

The complaint also states that the synod of Syro-Malabar Church, an apex body of Catholic Bishops chaired by Cardinal George Alencherry, also accused the state police of not viewing the matter cautiously and taking timely action in ‘Love Jihad’ cases. It has also been stated that half of the 21 girls who were taken from Kerala to join ISIS are Christian girls and have been converted to Islam through Love Jihad.

Love Jihad involves enticing girls by faking love, physically exploiting them, and recording the visuals to coerce the girls to convert into Islam and use them for terrorist activities. The complainant has further alleged that the police have not taken any prompt action.
