Sometimes, excessive democracy existing in India can be fatal to the nation. This has been witnessed after a major controversy has erupted with so-called stand-up comedy Vir Das passing anti-India comments and demolishing the image of India by uttering a rant against the nation at an event held in the United States.

This comes after the comedian uploaded a video on YouTube, titled "I come from Two Indias,", in which he peddled anti-India propaganda under the garb of comedy. He uttered rubbish about politics, religion, and nationality, all while instilling fear that India, which was once built by great men. But then it went totally wrong when in that 7-minute video, while defining India, he insulted the country by saying, "I come from an India where we worship women during the day and gang-rape them during the night."
 
Now, he is facing backlash from the Indian citizens for ranting against the nation. He has been booked for his comments and released a statement trying to cover up the blunder that he had created. With the video going viral, several netizens have dug out his old videos and tweets with derogatory remarks against women. Social media influencer Shefali Vaidya questioned Das as to why he has deleted some of his old tweets targeting women, along with the screenshots of the related tweets.
 
 
Actress Kangana Ranaut also dug out an old tweet of actor-comedian Vir Das and called him a ‘creepy Indian man’. She took to Instagram Stories to share a screenshot of one of his tweets from a few years ago. She wrote, "Example of creepy Indian man, who is good for nothing so he sells his sleaze for a living to the equally creepy and sexist-racist audience."
