Thane, November 20: As many as 9 immigrants have been arrested from the village of Saravali in Bhiwandi, of Maharashtra's Thane district, for illegally staying there, informed the Thane crime branch. Acting on the secret information, the Thane police had conducted a raid, nabbing all of the 9 from Avani Textile company situated in Sarvali of Kalyan Bhiwandi Road, the police said.
The Bangladeshis who were arrested have been identified as, Salim Amin Shaikh alias Asgar (30), Rasal Abul Hasan Shaikh (27), Mohd Shine Mohammad Akbarlai Shaikh (24), Mohd Masoom Shidulla Islam (21), Tarun Maniram (21), Suman Maniram (25), Ismail Abu Tahir Khan (19), Azam Yusuf Khan (19) and Mohammad Amir Abu Sufia Khan (26).
According to the police, the main accused, Asgar was residing in Bhiwandi's Nadi Naka area for the past 16 years, and had also brought the other Bangladeshi nationals to work in the same area.
