Kerala Elections: BJP releases list of 112 candidates, E Sreedharan to contest from Palakkad

Thiruvananthapuram, March 14: Ahead of the Kerala assembly election, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released the list of candidates for 112 seats for the upcoming assembly elections in Kerala. According to the statements, BJP is going to contest 115 seats and the rest of the 25 seats will be left for four parties.

According to the list, BJP star candidate, "Metroman" E Sreedharan, will contest from Palakkad Assembly constituency, while the state party chief K Surendran will contest from two constituencies - from Manjeshwar in Kasaragod and Konni in Pathanamthitta.
 
 
Moreover, the former state BJP chief Kummanam Rajasekharan will be contesting from Nemom's seat in the Kerala elections.

KJ Alphons will contest from the Kanjirappally Assembly seat. Suresh Gopi will contest from Thrissur. former vice-chancellor of Calicut University Dr. Abdul Salam will be contesting from the Tirur seat. Former DGP Jacob Thomas will contest from Irinjalakuda.
 
Apart from BJP, Congress has also released the list of the 86 candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Kerala. According to the list, Congress has fielded former Kerala CM Oommen Chandy from Puthuppally. However Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala will contest from Haripad, Padmaja Venugopal from Thrissur, VD Satheesan from Paravur, K Babu from Thrippunithura, and PT Thomas from Thrikkakkara, said the Kerala Congress chief.
 
 
 
 
The election for 140-member Kerala Assembly in 14 districts will be held in a single phase on April 6. The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
