Since 9/11, the United States has spent $21 trillion on foreign and domestic militarization, with $16 trillion going to the military (including $7.2 trillion for military contractors), $3 trillion going to veterans' programmes, $949 billion going to Homeland Security, and $732 billion going to federal law enforcement.
