US spends more than $21 trillion on militarization: Report

Washington DC, Sept 8: Following the brutal attack of 9/11, the United States has spent more than $21 trillion on militarization. This came after the Institute for Policy Studies published a report which sheds light on the US and its expenditure on Militarising itself after the brutal attack of 9/11. 

 

 

Twenty years after 9/11, the War on Terror has transformed the United States into a core military asset both abroad and at home. The costs of this progression are numerous, including increased monitoring and the costs to individual privacy, rising xenophobia and racism, as well as the costs to immigrants and people of colour, mass incarceration, and the cost of lives lost in war and bloodshed, all in the interest of national security.

 

 

 

 

 

The report mainly talks about how America utilized its total expenditure of $21 trillion. Twenty years after 9/11, the response has contributed to thoroughly militarized foreign and domestic policies at a cost of $21 trillion over the last two decades. Famous spy site Wikileaks famous for its groundbreaking claims shared this report on their official Twitter handle to show the expenditure by the US governments since all these years.

 

 

Since 9/11, the United States has spent $21 trillion on foreign and domestic militarization, with $16 trillion going to the military (including $7.2 trillion for military contractors), $3 trillion going to veterans' programmes, $949 billion going to Homeland Security, and $732 billion going to federal law enforcement.
