Cambridge Hindu Society condemns Hinduphobic Prof Priyamvada Gopal for calling Hindus 'sickos'

Prof Priyamvada Gopal had sickeningly, joked and mocked the memorial commemorating the victims of the Jallianwalla Bagh massacre of 1919, making light of the mass slaughter of peaceful protestors in Amritsar during the British colonial occupation of India.

In a robust stand against the Cambridge Academic, Prof Priyamvada Gopal, the Hindu Society on the Campus Cambridge has condemned her Hinduphobic statements. The 'Cambridge University academic' in her recent tweets had referred to Hindus as 'sickos' and expressed her wish that Western countries should block naturalisation of Hindus.

She also had sickeningly, joked and mocked the memorial commemorating the victims of the Jallianwalla Bagh massacre of 1919, making light of the mass slaughter of peaceful protestors in Amritsar during the British colonial occupation of India. "On behalf of Cambridge University Hindu Cultural Society (CUHCS), we would like to express our discontent with and condemnation of the recent words of the Cambridge academic, Priyamvada Gopal," read the statement issued by CUHCS.
 
 
 
 
It added, "The Cambridge University academic, Priyamvada Gopal, recently referred to Hindus as "sickos" in a tweet and expressed her wish that Western countries should "block naturalisation for Hindus." The Society said Cambridge is a place that should be free from any form of bigotry and intolerance as it's home to students of multiple faiths and walks of life. It accused Prof Priyamvada Gopal of creating an environment of fear and intolerance on the campus.
 
 
"Following the recent scandal at Oxford University, there has been a recent rise in anti-Hindu sentiment on our campuses, and particularly within academia itself. Hinduphobia will not be tolerated," the statement read.
