Muslims in Kashmir threaten Hindu minorities of J&K to be beheaded

Srinagar, Jun 10: The members of the Hindu community came to the streets to protest hate speech emanating from a mosque in Bhaderwah. The video of people gathering around the mosque to listen to the hate speech targeting Hindus has went viral. The incident has followed with a curfew in Bhaderwah on Thursday (Jun 10).

According to the latest updates, a curfew has been imposed in Bhaderwah and the police have initiated an investigation about the provocative remarks and hate speech. The Jammu Kashmir Police have cautioned locals from taking the law into their own hands. Reports also suggest that the Indian Army was called in to perform a flag march on Thursday evening. Flag March is carried out by the Army as a “show of force” in a disturbed area.
 
 
 
 
The incident of Hindu minorities in Bhaderwah coming out to the streets protesting came as a response to a video of hate speech from a mosque in Jammu and Kashmir's Bhaderwah that had gone viral. The incident of hate speech took place at the Jamia Masjid in Bhaderwah. In the video a Muslim cleric is seen publicly threatening to behead Nupur Sharma and those supporting her. The Muslim cleric expressed rage over Sharma's statement on a TV broadcast about Prophet Mohammad. Sharma's statement also resulted in her suspension from the party.
 
 
The cleric in the video is seen saying that Hindus drink cow urine and bathe in cow dung. He continues warning that if individuals talk about hijab and Azaan, the authorities should arrest them or Muslims will behead them. In response to the series of actions and reactions, Dr. Jitendra Singh, MP from Udhampur, tweeted, “I am deeply disturbed by the unpleasant situation that developed in Bhaderwah yesterday. I humbly appeal to the elders and the heads of the two communities to sit together to maintain the traditional harmony for which the beautiful town of Bhaderwah has always been known for.”
