In the sector of health, constant developments are happening and diet trends are changing in a blink and to these fast-paced changes as humans, we find resistance. And thus we keep convincing ourselves that old is gold because that is comfortable, and convenient. But unfortunately, that's not right.

If you are also split between what's good? Old or New? Then there are a few things you can do to get the best of both worlds.

Traditional and Modern Diet: Get the Best of Both Worlds

1. Be open-minded: If you're a gen Z and swear by the latest diet trends or you're a person whose faith lies in the traditional diet only, then please open your mind to learning from both old and new. Both have their plusses and minuses, don't miss them. Always be open to welcome good things in your diet, no matter whether they come from your granny or your granddaughter.

2. Don't turn a blind eye: You know what's the golden word for Nutritionists nowadays? It's " Traditional Foods". Just say it and see the queue growing outside your clinic. But you know this word is gold for the Nutrition business, not for your health. If these traditional foods were so healthy then why did almost all our mothers have grown by 3 sizes post-marriage? Why do our fathers have B.P, type 2 diabetes? Why do our grandparents have osteoarthritis? And now please don't sush me by saying, " Age ". While creating humans, God didn't put B.P, Type 2 Diabetes, Osteoarthritis, etc. as a part of aging. It's our lifestyles that made these additions. In my opinion, our ancestors had great eating habits but food? We don't really eat actual traditional foods because they are scarcely available nowadays. What we eat under that label are hybrid foods or unhealthy foods which started making an entry into the human diet a few centuries back.

3. Don't believe in ....: I recently came across a long message saying how we should not eat native foreign vegetables. Then I came across another such message saying how ghee is bad for your health and so many more messages like these. Just do not believe in such messages. What is wrong if some foreign veggie is good for your health and mind you eating it won't change your nationality 😉. You won't become a granny by eating ghee! Instead, you will look a lot younger by having it. So please don't just randomly follow these social media things. Confirm it with an expert.

4. Finally get the gold: Learn about the plusses and minuses of both old and new diet beliefs and incorporate what suits you best. Afterall all these efforts are to be healthy right? So go and be healthy. Get the best of both worlds. 😇
