As the police did not seek further custody during the hearing, the court sent the pregnant accused to judicial custody. She is currently lodged in Nashik Road Central Jail. Apart from charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to sexual harassment and defamation, Khan has also been booked under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Police said the complainant belongs to a Scheduled Caste community, and Khan attempted to force her to convert despite being aware of her background.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by Nashik police is probing nine FIRs linked to the case, one registered at Deolali Camp police station and eight at Mumbai Naka police station. According to police, the complainants have accused Khan of exploitation, attempts at forced religious conversion, hurting religious sentiments, molestation, and mental harassment.
