On May 23, leftist Cockroach Janata Party's
Abhijeet Dipke claimed that all his social media accounts and those of his recently formed unregistered party had been allegedly hacked. Declaring an alleged crackdown, he said that the backup account of the mass movement CJP had also been allegedly hacked.
"Crackdown on Cockroach Janta Party. The Instagram page was hacked. My personal Instagram hacked. Twitter account withheld. The backup account has also been taken down," he wrote. "Please note that we currently do not have access to any of our platforms. Any post made after this should not be considered an official statement from the Cockroach Janta Party," he added.
According to screenshots shared by
Dipke, he repeatedly attempted to recover his personal Instagram account through Meta’s recovery process but failed each time. He said, whenever he clicked on the "recover it now" option, the platform displayed the message: "We locked your Instagram account for your safety. To recover your account, you'll need to verify your identity and create a new password".
Dipke's CJP garnered more followers on social media within a short span. However, later it was
identified that the majority of the people who follow the CJP had their roots in Pakistan, Turkey, Bangladesh, and other Islamic countries.
