Three Muslim men were arrested by Uttar Pradesh Police, a day after Gaziabad Mayor Sunita Dayal exposed Muslims trying to throw cow meat remains into a local river in the city. The video was floated on social media on May 24, 2026, ahead of the Eid festival.
In the video, Dayal could be seen scolding the Islamists who happened to confirm that they were carrying beef in the gunny bags.
“Isi desh ka khayenge aur yahin gandagi karenge (they live off this country, yet they dirty it too),” the mayor said in a video shared on her personal Facebook account.
Dayal also confirmed that the incident took place near the Hindon Barrage in Indirapuram while she was visiting the area. According to her, the children were carrying meat in a gunny bag and were accompanied by two other individuals. She stated that the children admitted the meat was beef.

The three men were booked over allegations of throwing meat in an open area and throwing it in the river, “causing pollution,” the police said. “Three persons associated with a local madrassa had told these kids to dispose of the remains, so accordingly, initial action was taken,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhishek Srivastava. He added that no action was taken against the minors.
