Hours after BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari’s close aide Chandranath Rath was shot dead in Madhyamgram, another case of violence has come to the fore. BJP worker Rohit Roy, alias Chintu, suffered a bullet injury to the abdomen allegedly by TMC-sheltered miscreants in the Basirhat area of North 24 Parganas district on Wednesday. Party sources claimed that the incident took place in the Gotra area of Basirhat after a clash broke out over putting up a party flag. Video of the incident has been making rounds on social media.

In a video footage circulated by the party’s media cell, Roy was heard alleging he was shot by three miscreants from among a group of 8-10 TMC workers when he, along with a few others, was putting up BJP flags in his locality.
 
 
This is hours after the personal assistant of West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari was shot dead in Madhyamgram, just two days after the party’s historic victory in the assembly elections. The victim, identified as Chandranath Rath, was travelling in a moving car when assailants in another vehicle allegedly followed him and opened fire. While the investigation into the case is underway, the BJP has alleged that TMC goons had pre-planned the murder and executed it post poll results. (BJP worker Rohit Roy shot)
