A case of alleged medical negligence has surfaced at Alvi Nursing Home in Loni, Ghaziabad, where a woman has accused doctors of causing serious complications during a gall bladder surgery and later refusing to accept responsibility for the incident.

The complainant, Noor Saba, a resident of Kardam Puri in Delhi's Shahdara, alleged that a vein was accidentally severed during a gall bladder removal surgery performed at the nursing home on February 17, 2026. According to her, the surgical error led to severe health complications, eventually requiring another operation at a different hospital.

Speaking about her ordeal, Noor Saba said she initially recovered after the surgery but began experiencing health complications around 15 to 20 days later. Concerned about her deteriorating condition, she returned to Alvi Nursing Home for a medical examination.

According to Saba, doctors at the nursing home diagnosed her with jaundice and admitted her for two days. However, she alleged that the medical staff neither explained the cause of the condition nor provided effective treatment, and her health continued to worsen.

Unsatisfied with the treatment, Saba sought medical advice at another hospital. There, doctors allegedly informed her that a vein had been cut during the earlier gall bladder surgery, resulting in blockage and complications that manifested as jaundice. She subsequently underwent another surgery to repair the damage, after which her health reportedly improved.

Following her recovery, Saba returned to Alvi Nursing Home seeking an explanation and accountability for the alleged negligence. She claimed that instead of acknowledging the error, Dr Nadeem and other staff members told her that the incident was "Allah's will."

The complainant further alleged that when she pointed out that the alleged negligence could have cost her life, Dr Nadeem offered her between Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 to settle the matter, an offer she refused.

Subsequently, Noor Saba filed a complaint before the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM). Acting on the complaint, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) summoned Dr Nadeem to submit his response regarding the allegations.

According to the complainant, Dr Nadeem denied any negligence or wrongdoing before the authorities. Noor Saba has demanded action against the nursing home and compensation for the physical, emotional and financial hardship she claims to have suffered due to the alleged medical negligence.
