On Saturday, June 26, Lohagad Fort murder suspect Siya Goyal, during her custodial interrogation, told Pune Rural Police that she found it simpler to plan her fiancé Ketan Agarwal's murder than to face her family and admit she didn't want to marry him.

Police further revealed that Goyal harbored a personal dislike for Agarwal because he wore a wig. When asked why she had kept her reluctance to marry him hidden from her family, she reportedly said she didn't want to cause them any pain. The police also stated that Siya's family knew Chetan and that they had noticed the closeness between the two during a community cricket match.

According to investigators, Goyal reportedly believed that pushing Ketan into a gorge at Lohagad Fort was a more convenient option than confronting her family and ending the engagement. Police are currently cross-checking this claim as the investigation continues.

Ketan's father, Vishal Agarwal, confirmed that his son did use a hair patch, adding that both Goyal and her family had been made aware of this before the engagement. "A wig is not justification for taking my son's life," he said while speaking to the media.

On Friday, Pune Rural Police summoned Goyal's brother, Sahil Goyal, for questioning at the district police headquarters. Authorities are looking into whether he had any knowledge of Siya's involvement with co-accused Chetan Chaudhary and whether he had shared this information with other family members.

Police have also uncovered that the Goyal family first learned of Siya's closeness with Chaudhary at a community cricket tournament held in January. Investigators believe that the financial gap between the two families may have led the Goyals to push for Siya's marriage with Agarwal instead.

Authorities continue to question relatives and acquaintances in an effort to piece together the full chain of events that led to the alleged murder.
