Wangchuk, who fasted against 'NEET paper leak', praises govt's anti-paper leak bill and Indian Railways, says 'I am happy'

In a moment of heartburn for leftists and liberals, on Thursday, July 30, Sonam Wangchuk, who supported the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) in its protest against the 'NEET paper leak' scam, praised the BJP-led Indian government and its promises. This was during his train journey back to Ladakh, days after the so-called protest ended. "I am proud of Indian Railways and the Indian Government's promises too," he said in a 1:30 min video recorded on his Twitter profile.

 

 

As per reports, Wangchuk is on his way to Ladakh after getting discharged from a hospital following his hunger strike over alleged irregularities in the NEET UG exam. He called his first trip on the Vande Bharat Express from Delhi to Srinagar a "beautiful experience". He also expressed pride in the Chenab Bridge, describing the infrastructure achievement as a symbol of India's progress.

 

The activist was discharged from Medanta Hospital on Monday, July 27, after his health showed improvement following his 26-day hunger strike. Before leaving for Ladakh, he visited Rajghat to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi. Meanwhile, in his video communication, he also welcomed the introduction of the anti-paper leak amendment bill in Parliament aimed at improving examinations but stressed that reforms should extend beyond exams and focus on strengthening the education system as a whole.

 

 

Wangchuk further urged the government to honour written assurances given to him and the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) regarding protesters, including a commitment not to initiate legal action or file FIRs against participating 'students'. He said that a cooperative environment was essential for building a stronger India.
