ATS Cracks Down on Alleged JeM Network Across Gujarat and MP, Eight Arrested

Gandhinagar, Jul 04: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has dismantled an alleged network linked to the banned terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), arresting eight suspects from different parts of Gujarat and neighbouring Madhya Pradesh. The accused were produced before the Kadi court in Mehsana district in Gujarat, which granted the ATS 14 days of custodial remand for further investigation.

The operation, carried out across Palanpur, Siddhpur, Navsari and Dewas in Madhya Pradesh, is being seen as a significant step in preventing the revival of terror networks in the region.
 
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ahmed Abdullah Ghaziwala, Ibrahim Mohammad Hussain Ghagha, Mudassir Abdullah Ghaziwala, Zakaria Durrani, Mufti Faujan, Mohammad Amin Shera, Mohammad Abdul Rehman Sawdi, and Bilal Durani Mohammad (Madhya Pradesh).

According to the ATS, all eight suspects had allegedly been associated with the banned terrorist organisation for the past five months.
 
Addressing a press conference, Gujarat ATS DIG (Operations) Sunil Joshi said, acting on inputs, ATS launched a coordinated investigation using technical surveillance and human intelligence, eventually identifying eight suspects operating from different parts of Gujarat and MP.
 
 
 
“Based on technical surveillance and human intelligence, teams were immediately dispatched to Bhagd, Siddhpur, Navsari and Dewas in MP, leading to their arrest,” Joshi said.
 
The ATS also stated that a large amount of incriminating material was recovered from the mobile phones of the accused. According to the investigation, the suspects were allegedly acting on instructions from handlers based in Pakistan.
 
 
Officials said that two suspects were arrested initially, and the interrogation subsequently led to the arrest of six more individuals.
 
The investigation has also revealed a possible Kashmir link. According to the ATS, an unidentified individual from Kashmir allegedly met the main accused in Vadodara, and this aspect is currently under investigation.
