ED arrests Kailash Chand Mangla in Tirumala Ghee adulteration case

Hyderabad, Sep 19 : The Hyderabad zonal office of the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has arrested Kailash Chand Mangla in connection with the alleged adulteration and fraudulent supply of ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
The case originated from an FIR registered at Tirupati East Police Station, alleging criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery and corruption linked to the supply of adulterated ghee to the TTD.
According to the ED, its investigation found that the allegedly adulterated ghee was manufactured using refined palm oil, palm kernel oil, palmolein and other chemicals, including MG-90, monoglycerides, Myvacet Soft 400 and acetic acid ester.

The product was allegedly supplied to the TTD as ‘Agmark Special Grade cow ghee’ for use in preparing the sacred Tirumala ‘Laddu Prasadam’.
The ED estimated that fraudulent ghee supplies made between 2019 and 2024 were worth around ₹230 crore. Of this, adulterated ghee worth approximately ₹96 crore was allegedly manufactured by Mangla, the agency said.

Mangla, promoter of M/s Sukriti Foods Pvt. Ltd., has been named by the ED as an alleged co-conspirator. The agency said he allegedly facilitated the procurement of adulterants and manufactured adulterated ghee at his factory premises.
He also allegedly coordinated the supply of the adulterated product through several front entities, including M/s Sri Vyshnavi Dairy Specialities Pvt. Ltd., M/s Malganga Milk & Agro Products Pvt. Ltd. and M/s A.R. Dairy Foods Pvt. Ltd.
