The report talks in detail about the hope that Sri Lanka has from India, when the island country is clearly drowning in the debt-trap that China has set for it. In the COVID times, India has emerged as a savior for the entire world. Under Vaccine Maitri, India has gifted 5 lakh doses of Covishield to Sri lanka. The writer has discussed the entire issue with the backdrop of the ongoing anti-muslim social regime as well, that has been triggerred among the Buddhist citizens of Sri Lanka due to increasing incidents of animal sacrifices in mosques. The country needs to maintain its relations with India, based on religious lines as well.

According to Dar Javed, Pakistan PM Imran Khan was expected to have used the Muslim card during his visit to Sri lanka similar to what he did during his visit to Afghanistan in 2020. The Pakistan PM in 2012 had supported the Taliban justifying the terrorist activities by Islamic law and stating that they were 'holy wars.'

The author has stated, "He (PM Imran Khan) has used the United Nations General Assembly to rake up Muslim cause, which has often been perceived as interference in the internal matters of the other countries. In Oct 2020, he urged the Muslim-majority countries to protest after French President Emmanuel Macron expressed concerns over the murder of a teacher by an Islamist radical. He wrote to the leaders of Muslim-majority countries 'to counter the growing Islamophobia in non-muslim states'."

The author further added that looking back in time and understanding the nature of Pakistan's stand in global politics, "it is evident that providing PM Imran Khan with a platform like that of the Sri Lankan parliament would be like to dice with death."
