New Delhi, April 20: The central government got a massive response from the people on the very first day of the Phase 3 registration. Soon after the government opened the Cowinportal for the registration, over 1.32 Crore people registered themselves for vaccination on the portal .
According to the Aarogya Setu, over 1,32,67,272 people registered for vaccinations on the first day.More than 35 lakhs people registered in the first hour after launch of 18 plus registration on http://cowin.gov.in.

Aarogya Setu tweeted, "So we close Day 1 with 1.32 Cr Registrations on http://Cowin.gov.in. Kudos to Team Cowin for building a truly scalable and robust platform. Handling more than 50000 API calls per second is mammoth!!" Apart from this, the helpline desk received 50 thousand Application Program Interface API calls per second.
During the first 3 hours, more than 80 lakh people registered themselves on the portal. The health ministry clarified that the media reports that the server of Co Win platform has crashed are incorrect and are without any basis. It said, there were 383 million API hits within the first 3 hours and as many as 1.45 crores SMSs were successfully delivered.
"The server supporting the Cowin digital portal continues to work smoothly at its highest efficiency. People are registering on the platform, mostly of age-group 18-44. It witnessed more than 80lakh people registered themselves on the portal, with 3 hours from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm," it said.

It said, the Co-WIN software is a robust, dependable, and agile technology and it offers anytime anywhere registration for COVID19 vaccination. The capacity of the servers and other parameters have been ramped up to match the unprecedented scale of immunization so that the COWIN system provides citizen-centric services.
