Centre increases Liquid Oxygen quota to Bihar from 194 mt to 214 mt

Patna, May 3: The Centre has increased liquid oxygen quota to Bihar from 194 metric tonnes to 214 metric tonnes in view of the increasing consumption of oxygen in the state. The centre has also allocated 44 thousand five hundred vials of Remdesivir injections to the state.

Health Minister Mangal Pandey said cryogenic tanks of 15 to 20 metric tonnes will be set up in ten medical colleges of the state. Pandey said that the state govt has taken the decision to buy five hundred concentrators to meet the demand of oxygen in different govt and private hospitals.
 
 
 
 
 
The Health Minister said seven medical colleges including IGIMS, Patna, Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Bhagalpur and Anugrah Narayan Medical College, Gaya have been converted into dedicated COVID hospitals.  One thousand contractual doctors are being recruited and the process of regular recruitment of six thousand 448 has already begun.
