New York, August 20: Taking a dig at Islamabad, Foreign minister S Jaishankar expressed India's concern about the terrorism at UNSC and said the global community should call out the hypocrisy of countries that protect terrorists with innocents blood on their hands.

While briefing the global community on ' Threats to International Peace and security caused by terrorist acts', Jaishankar said that “evil of terror threatens the world” and “there is no difference between good and bad terror”. He also said that the menace of terrorism cannot be and should not be associated with any religion, nationality, civilization, or ethnic group.

Recalling the 2008 Mumbai terror attack, and the 2016 Pathankot attack, he said that terror groups like LeT and JeM continue to operate with bold impunity and encouragement. He explained, “Whether it is in Afghanistan or against India, groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed continue to operate with both impunity and encouragement.”

He highlighted that It is therefore vital that the Security Council "does not take a selective, tactical or complacent view of the problems we face. " "We must never countenance sanctuaries for terrorists or overlook their raising of resources," he said.

He further asserted that "And when we see state hospitality being extended to those with innocents’ blood on their hands, we should never lack the courage to call out this double-speak. "

He further added that the heightened activities of the proscribed Haqqani Network justified this “growing anxiety" related to regional and international security. He also referred to the recruitment of innocent youth for terror activities, which is a growing serious concern. "ISIS' financial resource mobilisation has become more robust. Rewards for killings are now even being paid in Bitcoins," Jaishankar added.
