Amarnath Yatra: Rescue teams to be deployed along Jammu-Srinagar Highway

Jammu, Jun 6: In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, rescue teams will be deployed along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH44) to provide help to the pilgrims during the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.

The District Superintendent of Police, Ramban Mohita Sharma took a security review meeting in which it was decided that rescue teams will be deployed to provide help to the pilgrims on the national highway, especially in slide-prone areas during the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. Besides, sufficient manpower will be deployed in advance so that the base camps and routes of the Yatra are secured and checked at the earliest.

The security forces are taking care that panic is not caused due to natural or any other threats during the yatra. The Rescue teams will be addressing all kinds of threats and will be first line of aid along the Jammu - Srinagar Highway during the Amarnath Yatra 2022.

According to the recent update regarding the administration of the yatra, the Centre has asked Jammu and Kashmir administration to take urgent steps to ensure that the upcoming Amarnath Yatra is conducted with assurance of high levels of cleanliness. The directive was sent after the cleanliness blunder took place at Kedarnath.
