Mumbai, October 18: The merger of art and technology started rapidly in the 2nd half of 19th century. First modern music studio dates back to 18th October of 1951. Today’s Google doodle dedicates the day to beat of the music as a tribute to the Studio for Electronic Music on its 66th anniversary. This Google doodle is distinct in the feature as it does not pay tribute to a person or a place but to history.

The Studio for Electronic Music mixed electronically synthesized sounds into a new genre of music. It was established at the West German Broadcasting facility in Cologne, Germany. Werner Meyer-Eppler, Robert Beyer, and Herbert Eimer were the composers behind the new idea of electronic music.

This studio created a new way for innovative music. “Artists in the studio created breakthrough beats, editing and mixing sounds using new types of equipment and technical composition. Composers and producers came from far and wide as the studio became a breeding ground for musical innovation,” Google says.

Google with its doodles helps to pass interesting information to 4.6 billion users across 160 countries. The doodle on electronic music is created by Berlin-based illustrator Henning Wagenbreth. It celebrates the diversity of thought and imagination that built this studio and transformed the possibilities of music.
