Chennai, Oct 21: Taking a firm stand on the issue of Vijay Starrer film Mersal, Veteran actor and aspiring Politician Kamal Haasan has requested official not to take any step against the alleged scene from the flick.

Expressing his anger over the demands of Tamil Nadu BJP leader, Haasan twitted, "Mersal was certified. Don't re-censor it. Counter criticism with logical response. Don't silence critics. India will shine when it speaks,"

 

Earlier BJP raised objections on some dialogues related to GST. Terming it as "untruths" the party officials have demanded the removal of that particular scene from the film. Taking a cognizance of the situation Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan also sought the amendment in the film regarding GST.

As reported by NDTV, Tamil Nadu BJP president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has demanded the deletion of anti-GST dialogues from Mersal. Tamilsai said, “People who saw the film were offended by the incorrect statements on GST and digital payments, which are policy decisions taken by the Union government” She further added that Celebrities like Vijay should not be making incorrect statements passing judgment on it.
