UN expands list of goods banned from export to North Korea

New York, October 24: North Korea’s aggressive attitude again got slapped by UN as a U.N. committee has added 32 items to the list of banned goods from sale or transfer to the hermit country. The banned 32 items have both civilian and military use.

List of banned goods:

The new addition bans materials such as a box from that can be used to carry radioactive materials to continuous cooling systems. It also includes lash X-ray machines and seismic detection equipment. Other items include particle accelerators, "software for neutronic calculations," concentrated forms of nitric acid, equipment to detect, monitor and measure radiation, and "radiation-hardened television cameras."

U.S. Ambassador Robert Wood told the General Assembly's disarmament committee that the US is determined "to exert maximum economic and diplomatic pressure on the Pyongyang regime to compel its leaders to change course and engage in talks aimed at denuclearization."

North Korea is facing various sanctions from international committees like UN, EU. The economic condition of the country is in danger. "North Korea will not achieve the security or the prosperity it seeks until it complies with its international obligations," said Wood.
