Erste Open: Bopanna wins the third title of the season in Vienna

Vienna, October 30: Indian tennis star, Rohan Bopanna won the Erste Open title in Vienna. Bopanna was with Pablo Cuevas when they defeated Sam Querrey and Marcelo Demoliner 7-6, 6-7, 11-9. While the Indian pair of Saketh Myneni and Vijay Sundar Prashanth won the Vietnam Open trophy at the Ho Chi Minh City.

 

It was Bopanna’s third title of the season for, before this, he has won Chennai Open with Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Monte Carlo Masters with Cuevas. Both were trailing down by 7-9 in the super tie-breaker which was the decider but saved both the match points to win the title.

The Indian pair of Myneni and Vijay Prashanth who was unseeded beat the Japanese combination of Go Soeda and Ben Mclachlan 7-6, 7-6 in Vietnam. It was the first title of the season for Myneni and maiden Challenger level trophy for Prashanth.
