UP Govt includes NCERT books in Madrasas syllabus

Lucknow, October 30: Yogi Adityanath government has taken a big decision of including National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) books in the educational syllabus of madrasas. This will make teaching science, english and maths compulsory at a higher level in the state. The move is set to affect 16,000 madrasas across the state.

 

To improve the job prospectus this decision has been taken as students after completing their education from a madrasa used to become alims or maulvis which are low paying jobs.

 

UP Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma said “After the government’s consent the madrasa board has started preparations to include the prescribed NCERT text in the course.” He also added saying “This is a big push to educational reforms in the state.

The Uttar Pradesh government had asked for online registration of all the Islamic educational institutions by launching a portal of UP Madrasa Board, this August.
