New Delhi, November 10: The ruling party of Bengal, All India Trinamool Congress has been protesting against Aaadhar card for a long time. Whereas the party members keep filling pleas against Aadhar, Supreme Court has again rejected a plea after rejecting a plea from the state. The apex court has refused to entertain a plea filed by a Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Mahua Moitro challenging the linking of bank accounts with Aadhaar.

The party general secretary of TMC filed a petition which challenged a directive from Central government on linking Aadhar to bank accounts.Participating in the ongoing agenda of TMC, she opposed the idea of linking aadhar to bank accounts within 31st December.

Whereas various petitions are coming up in Apex court, it cannot entertain every petition on similar issue. Hence it said it cannot entertain thousands of pleas raising the similar issue. As a private ctizen, the TMC MLA filed the plea.

Justice AK Sikri of the bench observed, “I think each and every aspect of Aadhaar has already been challenged in court.” The bench said, “Since so many petitions are pending consideration before the court, it may not be appropriate to entertain this PIL.”

Earlier Bengal Government moved to Supreme Court opposing the direction of linking aadhar to telephone number. SC observed state cannot question laws passed by the parliament. “In a federal structure, how can a state file plea challenging Parliament’s mandate? We know it is a matter which needs consideration but you satisfy us how a state can challenge it?” it asked.
