Chennai, Nov 21: For the first time breaking his silence over the raging controversy of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati veteran actor Kamal Haasan expressed that intellectual class must respond to the atrocities faced by the creative fraternity. Venting his anger on Twitter Haasan backed actress Deepika Padukone for her epic period drama.


Recalling his old association with detractors, the Tamil superstar mentioned that many fringe groups had stalled his flicks for the sake of pity political polarization. The ace actor also condemned the threatening comments uttered against the lead actress and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The iconic actor opined that any act of extremism under any condition is deplorable.

Touted to be a visual treat for the movie Buffs, the Production team of Padmavati has been under the attack of several fringe organizations for alleged distortion of historical facts. On November 19 the makers of Padmavati had deferred the grand released scheduled on December 1.
