Again tension rises in Korean Peninsula following angry words from both US and North Korea

Washington, December 3: After North Korea’s latest missile launch, again the word war has started between United States (US) and North Korea. With the increase in tension in Korean Peninsula, leaders from both the country are strongly determined to overpower each other by angry words. A top White House official commented on Saturday that the odds of war breaking out with Pyongyang are moving closer to reality with each day. On the other hand, North Korea has said U.S. President Donald Trump is “begging for nuclear war.”

“I think it’s increasing every day, which means that we are in a race, really, we are in a race to be able to solve this problem,” White House national security adviser H.R. McMaster told the Reagan National Defense Forum in California. “There are ways to address this problem short of armed conflict, but it is a race because he’s getting closer and closer, and there’s not much time left,” the official added referring North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un. According to him, the hermit country represents the greatest immediate threat to the United States.

On the other hands, the opposition country is blaming the US for conducting a joint military exercise with South Korea which is set to kick off from Monday. This is the annual exercise of the two allies. 12,000 U.S. personnel and more than 230 aircraft from both countries will join the exercise. Even U.S. stealth fighter jets from Japan, B-1B strategic bombers from Guam and advanced South Korean aircraft are also supposed to be involved.

“The U.S. is publicly touting the objective of the drill as enhancing the actual combat capability to disable the DPRK’s major strategic bases in the early stages of the war,” North Korea’s state-run news agency Korean Central News Agency quoted an unidentified spokesman.

After remaining inactive for two months North Korea again fired a Hwasong-15 intercontinental ballistic missile. Hours after the launch North Korea said the new type of intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) could reach the entire U.S. mainland. The test came a week after US President Donald Trump brought back the country to the list of states sponsoring terrorism. After the launch Trump said, the US will handle this lunch with “care.”
