New Delhi, Sept 23: Rahul Gandhi, Congress Vice President and future President of the ‘Grand Old Party’ of India, needs a pat for speaking the truth. What he said in his New York program in which he addressed a crowd of nearly 2000 ‘Congress-Bhakts’ in the US, was revealing.

The NRI Congress scion (Is not he born of an Italian Mother?) said that the founding fathers and big leaders of the party were ‘Non-Resident Indians (NRIs). What a startling revelation! No one in the party had dared to reveal this truth in its journey of 132 years!! Does not Rahul deserve a pat for this at least?

Rahul said on record that prominent leaders of India’s freedom struggle i.e. Congress movement, including Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar were all Non-Resident Indians.

Not only this, he had even said that the Congress itself was an NRI movement. Mahatma Gandhi was an NRI, Jawaharlal Nehru came back from England, Ambedkar, Azad, Patel, they were all NRIs, Rahul said on Thursday.

He was addressing the crowd of 2000 NRI supporters of the 132 year-old party in the final leg of his fortnight long tour of the US.

Stating that they borrowed ideas from abroad and implemented them at home to make India great, Rahul Gandhi said, “Every single one of them went to the outside world, saw the outside world, returned to India and used some of the ideas they got and transformed India”.

Rahul said there were thousands of such “NRIs” whose contribution to India is yet to be recognized.

Citing the example of Varghese Kurian, father of the White Revolution, Rahul said he belonged to the category of a non-resident Indian as well.

“One of the biggest successes in India; the milk that most of India drinks (Amul doodh pita hain India); it was a man called Mr Kurian, he was an NRI. He came from the United States and he transformed India... There are thousands of examples that we have not recognised,” he claimed.

Hailing the Indian diaspora in the US, Rahul said just because they'd settled in a foreign land didn't mean that they did not contribute to the development of their native country, and went on to call them “the backbone” of India.

And Rahul Gandhi was not entirely wrong. Mind you, the Congress was established by one foreigner called A O Hume in 1885. This man escaped the wrath of the 1857 freedom fighters by wearing a ‘burqa’ and hiding in a safe place. Later, he became instrumental in founding the Congress party as a ‘safety valve’ for Indian unrest against the British Raj.

Thus, the very founder of the party called Congress was not rooted in this soil and his intentions were clear: to provide a ‘safety valve’ for the growing Indian unrest. In in the initial days the Congress was just doing that until leaders like Lokmanya Tilak took over its reins. Though Tilak never became the president of the party, he nevertheless dominated the political discourse and direction of the Congress party till he was replaced by an NRI by the name Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

From Mahatma Gandhi-Nehru to Sonia-Rahul via Manmohan Singh, the Congress has been dominated by this NRI thought and spirit. They first believed in the borrowed concept of nationhood. They believed that India was never a nation; it became one only on 15th August 1947. They were obsessed with excessive Muslim-phobia to the extent of accepting the vivisection of the motherland and pampering the Muslims in Independent India recognising their ‘first right’ over the resources of the country.

With this NRI spirit, the Congress accepted the partition of the country; allowed Pakistan and China to devour thousands of km of Indian Territory in Kashmir and Northeast; nurtured separatists like Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in Punjab; pampered anti-national elements like Sheikh Abdullah in Kashmir; allowed Christian missionaries to convert janjati people in the hills and forests of the northeast and raise anti-India movements in those areas; permitted millions of Muslim infiltrators from across the Bangladesh borders into Assam and nurtured their vote banks; sided with Maoists and Communists for furthering their political motives and tried hard to supress and destroy the nationalist movements of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), negated all that is Hindu; neglected the true freedom fighters of India like Sardar Bhagat Singh, Veer Sawarkar, Ashfaq Ullah Khan, Begum Hazrat Mahal and Bahadurshah Jafar. The list is unending.

Because of this NRI origin, the Congress leaders never accepted India as their home. That is why when the issue of Chinese intrusion into Aksai Chin area was raised in the Parliament, NRI Jawaharlal Nehru said, “Not a blade of grass grows there. What is the harm if China built a road there?” The same NRI attitude prompted them to give Berubari to the then East Pakistan now Bangladesh. It is the same attitude that inspired NRI Nehru to ban the indigenous nationalist movement called RSS on a false pretext.

This NRI attitude of the Congress leaders, particularly those of the Gandhi-Nehru clan, made them suspicious and authoritative in nature to the extent of holding the entire nation to ransom in 1975. To satisfy the hunger for power of one person, the NRI Congress shamelessly imposed emergency in the country. It allowed terrorism to grow just because initially it suited to their political power designs. Now it has turned into a cancerous problem taking endless lives of innocent people.

The list is unending, Mr Rahul Gandhi. That is why the people of this country, as wisdom dawned upon them after a long gap of 70 years, decided to throw your NRI Congress into dustbin and elect a truly nationalist party and government to restore the original glory of Mother Bharat. There is no chance for the NRI Congress to bounce back to power in near future. Forget that now Mr Rahul Gandhi. But anyway, thank you very much for speaking the truth about your party and its leaders.
