South Korean President Moon says he’s open to meeting with Kim Jong Un

Seoul, January 10: After a successful inter-Korean talk, South Korean President Moon Jae-in wants to take the talk forward. He expressed his wish to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. To resolve the tension in Korean Peninsula he pledged more cooperation. US President Donald Trump and UN Chief Seretary also welcomed the outcoming of the talk.

Welcoming the progress made during Tuesday's high-level inter-Korean talks in the small border village of Panmunjom, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres spotlighted, among others, the agreement to reopen military channels as critical to reducing tensions in the region.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in thanked U.S. President Donald Trump on for helping to initiate the first inter-Korean talks in more than two years, and warned that Pyongyang would face stronger sanctions if provocations continued.

Along with sending a delegation to winter Olympics, North Korea has also accepted Seoul’s offer to hold military talks to reduce tensions. The joint statement came out after nearly 12 hours of negotiations on their border.

Earlier, North Korea said that it will send a delegation of high-ranking officials and others, including athletes, cheering and performing art squads, taekwondo demonstration, teams, and journalists, on the occasion of the Winter Games. The talk followed a proposal of Kim Jong Un to send a delegation in Winter Games.
