JK police apprehends four hardcore overground workers in Kupwara district; arms recovered

Srinagar, January 16: Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday arrested four over ground worker (OGW) of terrorists from north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. However, this is a result of intensified efforts of security forces to curb terrorism and terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir with an aim to bring peace, law and order in the valley.

 

Notably, Jammu and Kashmir police arrested four sympathizers from north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Arms and ammunition including some grenades have been recovered from their possession. The arrest comes 11 days before Republic day after security forces intensified their efforts to curb terrorist activities following input of threat.

A top police spokesman said, “We have busted a local module and arrested four persons who were on a task to motivate local youth towards militancy.” Earlier in the day, security forces including Jammu and Kashmir's police, Army and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) sent six Pakistani terrorists belonged to Jaish-e- Mohammad (JeM) terror group into the graves after they tried to sneak in the Indian side in the Uri sector of Baramulla district along the Line of Control (LoC).

In the month of December, last year security forces arrested several hardcore OGWs from Jammu and Kashmir who were planning for the attack in the valley. Importantly, the Indian security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Therefore, Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that more than 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year.
