Bengaluru, Oct 4: Karnataka’s ruling party JD(S) is likely to field Anita Kumaraswamy, wife of Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for the upcoming by-election of Ramanagara segment.

According to media reports, the Chief Minister Kumaraswamy will keep Channapatna assembly segment and planning to vacate Ramanagara for his wife. In Karnataka assembly election, Kumaraswamy had contested from two assembly segments.

On Wednesday, speaking to the media, the JD(S) leader denied the reports and maintained that final decision regarding Ramanagara poll will be announced soon.

As reported by Deccan Chronicles, one section of Congress is not ready to accept the proposed move of JD(S) whereas senior Cabinet Minister DK Shivakumar is keen on backing JD(S) candidate.

A film producer by profession, Anita began her political stint with a by-poll from Madhugiri Assembly of Tumakuru district. In 2013 Assembly elections she could not make it to the state assembly and lost from Channapatna seat. The fate was same in 2014 general elections where Congress she lost against leader D K Suresh from Bengaluru Lok Sabha.
