Meerut, Feb 26: Addressing the biggest ever congregation of Swayamsevaks in uniform here on Sunday, RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat appealed to the Hindu society to become a member of RSS to enable India to accomplish its destined duty of spreading high moral values for the humanity.

Speaking at mammoth “Rashtrodaya” program attended by over three lakh RSS swayamsevaks drawn at Meerut, Bhagwat said that Hindus have only India as their own and it is their responsibility to make it great. India has been home to Hindus from the ancient times and they have no other place to go in the world.

Therefore, “say with pride that you are a Hindu”. “We have to unite as a Hindu because the responsibility of this country is upon us”, he added.

Drawing a parallel between the countries that made material progress and India, the RSS Chief said that those countries are still in search for inner peace in spite of their rich material achievements. They are looking towards India for that inner peace.

He said that the Indian seers and sages have realized the origin of inner peace and evolved a way of life based on certain values and ethos that are best for the entire humanity. This has been the destiny of India. It has to guide the world and humanity towards that inner peace and experience of inherent unity in diversity around us, he added.

Bhagwat further said that the diversity we experience around is nothing but the varied expressions of the inherent unity and it is the duty of Hindus to make the entire humanity experience that unity. ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’ is our practice since ancient times.

But the Hindu society is divided over caste, creed, language, etc. and there are elements that take advantage of our divisions to further weaken our society. We must never allow them to succeed and remain united. We are one people because we are Hindus and we will have to remain as one people for the nation and the world as well.

The RSS Chief insisted that the Hindus always celebrated diversity. Our ancestors realized the ultimate truth and that truth is all the existence is one. To our eyes it may appear diverse but inside it is all one. We don’t see unity is diversity but recognize the diversity of this unity. That is why we respect and celebrate diversity, he added.

Appealing the Hindus to become more hard and uncompromising in respect of values, he said more we become hardliners more will we respect and celebrate the diversity. But the world listens to those good things only when there is power standing behind them, said underlining the importance of strength of the society.

It is no wrong to be strong; Bhagwat said explaining that this congregation is not a show of strength. Strength is visible, it need not be exhibited, he said it is visible when it is there. Even the gods do not accept the sacrifice of the strong, they prefer the weak lamb.

Those who accept Mother India as their mother are Hindus. But there are some Hindus who are ignorant of their real identity. Like Lord Hanuman, they also need to re-introduce to their true identity as Hindus, he said.

The stage made for this program was magnificent having a length of 182 ft and height of 35 ft. Lift and staircase were made to reach the stage. Tight and foolproof security was ensured for the program with deployment of police and Rapid Action Force besides CCTV and Drones were also in place.
