Industrialists should work more for farm sector: Vice President

Mumbai, Mar 23: Industrialists should devote more time for development of agriculture sector, suggested Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu here on Friday.

He was speaking as chief guest at the Mint Corporate Strategy awards distribution ceremony held at Hotel Taj organised by Mint newspaper. Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao,and Protocol Minister Prof Ram Shinde were present.

Vice Pre4sident Naidu further said that industrialists have a major role and contribution in country’s development. The growth rate is constantly going up because of them. Industries are benefitted because of the ‘Ease of Doing Business’. This is the result of new policies declared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Entrepreneurs are attracted towards India due to many concessions for setting up industries and transparency has given speed to them. Demonetisation and GST have also benefited the industries. Now the entrepreneurs should safeguard social interests and social welfare, Naidu said congratulating those who were felicitated with the award.

The Vice President felicitated entrepreneurs and CEOs including Smt Rashmi Joshi, Jayant Chatterjee (Crastol India), Piyush Shrivastava, Shrikant Lonikar, Rudratej Pratap Singh (Eicher Motors), N P Singh (Soni Network), Rashesh Shah (Edelweiss), Nida Paloba (Tata Sky), Chandrashekhar Tike (Torrent Pharma), Aashish Panchal (Torrent Finance), Rohit Philip (Indigo Airlines), Vineet Jain (Adani Power), Anup Sahay (Tata Steel), by giving them a memento.

 

Sukumar, Editor of Hindustan Times, made the introductory remarks and Mint Editor Vinay Kamat proposed vote of thanks. People from industry were present in large number.
