Not contesting from Badami segment: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah

Mysore, April 17: Reacting to the criticism of opposition parties over the two-seat contest theory, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah clarified that he never had any plan to contest from Badami assembly segment in Bagalkot district. Speaking to the media here, the Chief Minister slammed opposition parties for unnecessarily speculative reports about his poll plan. Earlier, rumors were at rife about Siddaramaiah’s second assembly segment reportedly from Badami.

When asked about the meeting with Badami locals, Siddaramaiah stated that people of Badami had requested him to contest from the seat. Recounting his long political career, the Congress leader noted that he had never contested from two constituencies. On April 20, Siddaramaiah will file the nomination from his traditional seat Chamundeshwari. His son Yatindra will contest from Varuna.
