New Delhi, June 19: Swaying the education drive and enabling incorporation of most of the eligible teachers, the Human Resource Development Department has slated a new term for CBSE. The department has directed all CBSE to conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) examination in all Indian languages as was being done earlier.

Slating the developments of four years of the government, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar in a tweet mentioned the new development coming its way by tweeting that the department has asked the CBSE to conduct the examination in all the 20 languages.

 

He said that the examinations will be held in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bangla, Garo, Gujarati, Kannada, Khasi, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Mizo, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Tibetan and Urdu. 
 
Earlier, the CBSE had decided to remove 17 languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada from the list of options for the CTET. The decision was criticized by some political parties at that time.
 

Initiating various other changes the department had earlier mentioned about the Ph.D. degree being mandatory for the assistant professors from July 2021. The move came in to welcome new talent for teachers to come forward and get accustomed to the world of teaching.
